 ROME IS THE PITS

What a fun week! It feels like we did so much yet accompished nothing. What a great feeling😊 we get p day today because we have zone conference tomorrow and we get to play soccer as a zone... I played half a rec season my senior year so it's my time to shine😈

One of my most favorite things to do in Italy (especially in lessons) is to tell people there is a beautiful phrase in English... and say whatever the heck i want. It's great because I can say whatever i want and they think it's a common American saying

We had a lesson with our boy Tubi. He's from the Congo and speaks English good enough to teach so yesterday we told him what the book of mormon was and how to pray. He's progressing which is good because stuff with Fabio is slowing down. He's an absolute tank but he thinks there is nothing wrong with his last baptism (facts) so we aren't sure why he won't just do it again. He loves the church and the doctrine so we just working slow slow with him. Please pray for this man

I have to get my 3rd dose for covid now and I'm so scared. I don't like shots so i need to go mentally prepare... keep me in your prayers🙏🙏👊

Italian for the week: gli occhiali is glasses

 FISHING FOR DUMPSTER FOOD

This week we had a fun youth activity at this cool park in Rome. To be more specific, it was Muselini's villa when he was dictator during WWII. As history goes, USA🇺🇸 throat punched Italy and made them switch teams mid war and nobody wanted to live in his villa so now it's a park

Anyways after the activity, we got to teach the little Italian kids how to play football. The fun thing was that we could teach them anything and say they are the rules😈 hahah we were fairly nice to them but we did say it's mandatory to say "blue, forty two, set... YIKE" because you snap the ball. It was so funny to see them try and pronounce it

On our way home from that activity, we found two un opened pandoros sitting on this dumpster. At this point, you're probably wondering what a pandoro is... which is a fair question but basically, it's just a cake that tastes like plain, white bread that you put powdered sugar on. To be honest, it's so unhealthy and not even that good but they are fun to eat. An American example: imagine that you find 2 unopened bags of reeces Christmas trees on a dumpster in April. Things like that just don't happen... it was nothing short of a mircale.

Italian for the week: ananas means pineapple

Anziano Lewis received his mission call one year ago today...

Fun to receive this letter about his call to serve as District Leader 🇮🇹

Wednesday, April 13, 2022

Mamma mia these past two weeks have been fun and action packed. A lot of days are loaded but I don't mind, it's starting to feel like Christmas everyday😅

I've had a lot happen these two weeks so i apologize if this email gets hefty. Anyways I've developed an unhealthy habit of saying "mamma mia" any time something inconvenient, funny, or crazy happens so honestly at this point it's taking up about 30% of my spoken words

Other notable things this week:
• nothings happening for transfers however I'm now district leader😈
• my Italian is fosho getting better. I did a fast and it's working😚
• we finally picked up our suits (we were boolin in church this week)🥵
• Wichita Kansas is getting a temple and I'm positive it's going across from the church building we would meet at... crazy huh!🤠
• we planted this olive tree (took us two hours) and after we went and got lunch and share a message and half way through he walked out...🥲 the drive home was pretty tho so whateva

We did a fun little challenge with the sorelle in our district. A bake off and see whose creation is better... the problem is I don't cook, neither does my comp and even if we did, we don't have food to bake haha so we decided to walk down to the nearest bakery, pick up a few slices of cake and pass it off as our own. Long story short, they didn't like our homemade... store bought cake

Italian for the week: "torta finita" means fake cake

Grazie mille a tutti,
Anziano Lewis

Pictures:
1. Some guy thought I was a gay man hitting him up on Facebook🤗
2. Look at how our member spelled hamburger "amburker"
3. We made amburkers for a member family and so we put pineapples on them hahah
4. Olive tree we planted
5. Me and this guy boolin in the same sweater hahah
The rest are self explanatory
